If you ever have a chance to visit South Korea, don’t forget to drop by this amazing cat heaven in Gaehwa-dong, Seoul. The sweet café will satisfy your soul in the most adorable way you could have imagined.
Even though it’s called a “café” and the admission fee always includes one drink, you can’t eat or drink on site for the sake of over 100 cats here. Yes, you can only take that drink once you’re about to leave. But still, who needs drinks when you have all these stunning creatures to pet and adore?
To officially enter Cat Lover Garden, first you need to book a table on their website because this place attracts plenty of guests daily and could be overcrowded anytime. The costs vary from $9 to $14, depending on your age.
You also need to wash your hands before officially stepping in to avoid harming all the cats here.
After you get in, the café always gives you all the boxes and blankets you need to capture their attention and once they notice you, there’s a good chance that they will rest on your blanket or even start kneading (making biscuits). Isn’t it fantastic?
All the kitties here used to be feral or stray cats, and it’s so sad to think that these lovely kittens once had a tough life on the streets fending for themselves hopelessly all alone. Thankfully they have been adopted by the wonderful owners of Cat Lover Garden. The café also works as an adoption agency so you can totally adopt one or a few cats here if you fall in love with these cuties.
If you aren’t able to give them a forever home, don’t worry, because their life at the café is already fascinating enough. Besides over 100 four-legged friends and countless humans to hang out with, they are also allowed to wander freely in the main building or around the gorgeous 2-tiered garden outside.
It’s such freedom that makes the cats here a lot calmer and friendlier than other cats at some café in the local area.
