Tora is a one-year-old Scottish Straight cat who loves traveling and discovering the world with her owner David Durst. They travel across the United States in a truck, and Tora’s favorite place is a passenger seat in the truck.
Tora started her outdoor adventures when she was just 2 months old. So far, she and her human have visited 43 states in US, and all of their journeys are documented on Tora The Trucker Cat Instagram page with more than 14,000 followers.
David shared that it was difficult for him to adopt a cat because the agencies thought that the kitten shouldn’t live in a truck. He thought that he couldn’t have a cat until a breeder sent him a photo of Tora. At that moment, he knew right away that he had found what he was looking for, a trusted travel buddy.
“We got Tora when she was just eight weeks old and hit the road just three days later. ‘She was the bravest little kitten I’ve ever seen and took to the truck instantly. She loved looking out the window and taking in all the new sights. It was an instant fit.’
David added: “Tora loves to get out of the truck and explore, especially in big cities!” From big cities to secluded forest walks, Tora is always ready for any adventure. Tora’s litter box is in the sleeper of the truck, and it is cleaned out twice daily. ‘This is the question we get asked the most by far,’ joked David.
David is amazed by the love people on social media offer Tora, so he often updates their adventures on Instagram. He and his perfect companion Tora are planing to visit the remaining five continental states by the end of this year.
