Pic shows: The mother cat with her dead babies.nnHeartbreaking photos show a stray cat mourning the death of her kittens which it is said were murdered in cold blood.nnThe kittens were not even able to open their eyes yet before one was reportedly decapitated and the other had its stomach sliced open.nnThe shocking story was revealed by a woman surnamed Yang, 68, who has been taking care of homeless cats in her neighbourhood for more than 10 years.nnShe often feeds the cats and also provides them with simple boxes for shelter whenever they turn up in her residential community in Xi¿an, capital of north-west China¿s Shaanxi Province.nnBut her love of cats is not shared by many of the locals, she said, as many see the strays as pests that bring disease.nnYang recalled that she spotted the two kittens and their mum one day and decided to shelter them in a box, which she placed in a roadside garden near her home.nnThe kittens were still unable to run, and Yang left them in a box at around 7am.nnBut when she returned at noon, she found the mum pacing near her two dead kittens and meowing by their carcasses.nnYang said she was shocked to find that one kitten had had its head cut off, while the other was killed after someone had stabbed it in the stomach.nnThe cat also refused to leave, seemingly distraught at her murdered offspring.nnYang said she was unable to find surveillance footage of the apparent deliberate killing, and local police also turned her away, perhaps due to China not having laws against the abuse of stray animals.nnYang was quoted as saying: "The kittens were obviously killed ¿ and by a knife. How could anyone be so cruel?"nnYang has now done the only thing left to do, burying the kittens in the ground.nn(ends)n

Nothing is worse than losing your own children. And it’s just as painful for animals as well, like one mother cat in Xi’an, China, whose two kittens were brutally stabbed and even decapitated on the street.

The two poor kittens were discovered by an old lady surnamed Yang who has been taking care of homeless cats in the neighbourhood for the past few years. Mrs. Yang spotted the mother walking back forth, meowing constantly at her two dead kittens, licking them, trying to wake them back up.

Mrs. Yang said that she was terribly shocked when she found that one kitten had had its head cut off, while the other one had been stabbed in the stomach, Sina reports.
