Audrey, an animal rescuer with Murphys Safe Haven, saw a post about a cute kitten in need of a home and instantly consented to the rescue, making sure he received the required medical treatment to give him an opportunity to find a home.
The woman, who has been working with animals for 14 years, noticed the cat had a cleft lip as soon as she arrived at the rescue facility. He also discovered evidence of cerebellar hypoplasia, a neurological disorder that impairs his motor abilities.
Audrey stated:
“We realized he couldn’t walk correctly and was falling. He was first perplexed, but rapidly became quite lively and sociable.”
Soon, the bashful kitty began to reveal his charming nature. From the start, he was content in Audrey’s arms and requested pampering and caresses.
Audrey states:
“He started purring and making sure all eyes were on him.”
The kitten was called Oink, and he was given a bath and a certificate of good health. Despite the state of his mouth, the tiny kid ate with enthusiasm. Almost soon, the kitten got spoilt and demanded constant attention.
Oink likes the company of people and other animals; he even has a pet rat with whom he appears to get along well.
Audrey continued, saying:
“He’s a lot of fun and enjoys being the center of attention. Meows at the door till I bring it in.”
Oink spends much of his time with his foster mother. While she is working on the computer, he stands by her side purring to help her create a peaceful environment. The young cat staggers a little when walking, but that doesn’t stop it from trying to do everything a kitten normally likes.
He is a very persistent little kid who seldom accepts no for an answer to his demands, and he is extremely persuasive when he suggests it.
When it comes to cuddling, Audrey feels Oink is the perfect mate. The small boy approaches gently with his purrs, looking for a warm and comfortable home.
Audrey stated:
“Oink’s favorite pastime is cuddling up in bed. He likes it when it’s time for bed and he can cuddle up on my chest.”
Every morning, the woman is greeted by the rambunctious little kitten, who is always playing and purring. He exudes boundless vitality, and it appears that he will not be deterred by anything.
Oink is extremely content cuddled up between the covers near his mother, feels comfortable, and sleeps happily knowing he is safe.
The cat is doing well owing to the attention it is receiving in its foster home. He’s an inquisitive and lively little man.
Audrey continues, saying:
“In my opinion, he is wonderful. We will make sure that little Oink has the greatest life possible!”
