A tiny kitten came out of the woods and walked up to a man in his yard, meowing and even climbing into his lap…
“…now we have a cat.”
“This tiny little floof walked straight out of the woods by our house and climbed right up in my lap.”
The family looked around for signs of a nest or den, but couldn’t find any. They even tried waiting for the mother cat to come back and find her kitten.
“My wife was not too thrilled at the idea of leaving the kitten alone outside overnight but I figured I should give the mother a chance to come back and claim her own.”
The next morning he went to check on the kitten and was surprised to see her waiting for him by the back door.
No one came to claim the kitten. By then he knew she was most likely a stray and had chosen their house to be her new home.
“One vet and pet store trip to pick up a clean bill of health and some much needed kitten supplies and now…we have a cat,” Fizz added.
“Wife is thrilled. Three year old son is over the moon with excitement.
“We settled on the name Auri (From The Name of The Wind by Pat Rothfuss, because she’s our little moon fae),” Fizz told us.
“As soon as I saw her (the first day) I knew she was going to be our cat – even after I tried to convince myself otherwise.”
When you are chosen by a kitten, you just don’t stand a chance.
Little Auri has found her favorite place to nap – right next to her human dad at her new home.
