Sometimes people assume the worst about this sweet dog named Hades, simply because of how he looks. Recently, however, Hades proved that it’s what’s in his heart that matters.
Hades lives in Mexico with his owner, Juan José P. Flores. For as long as Flores can remember, a stray cat has been frequenting his neighbourhood.
Though he could never get close to her, Flores regularly left food out to make sure she never went hungry…
That act of kindness didn’t go unnoticed by Hades who soon followed Flores’ lead with a loving gesture of his own.
The other day, Flores was at home when he heard knocking at the back door, where Hades likes to hang out. Flores thought it was a person, but it was his pup. Hades, it turns out, had something important to share.
“He was desperate and making a lot of noise,” Flores told olly.
Stepping out to check, Flores saw this Hades happily pointing out that he’d invited a certain someone to stay in his doghouse.
That, someone, was the bashful stray kitty cat. As it turns out, she was pregnant and in need of a safe place to deliver her babies. Hades knew just the right spot. “I was very surprised,” Flores said.
Flores expects that Hades’ activities will change, considering his strain and possibly even inspire others from his heart kindness.
Cosy at the house she had been provided, the new mother cat could not have been happier with her infants. “I believe he believed he was a daddy,” Flores said…
Hades’ kindness toward the kitty did not end there. As she went into labour, Hades remained close by her at that vulnerable moment.
“He pulled a blanket over into the entry of his home and settled out the doorway,” Flores said.
Below the puppy’s tender opinion, the cat gave birth to 2 beautiful kittens.
Flores gets transferred the new mommy and her babies to the primary home at which he and Hades will keep a closer eye on them collectively.
Once the time is correct, Flores will discover new households for your kittens; Nicol, meanwhile, will have a house with him and Hades.
A beautiful friendship has started to blossom between Hades and the cat, now called Nicol. Flores said they had spent much of the time together when Mother is not busy attending to her kittens.
Hades, it appears, rests easy knowing they’re safe and nearby…
How to help a kitty cat to give birth
She will likely find herself in gestation sooner or later. Although instinctively guides them, new mothers still benefit from extra help at this critical time.
There are three phases of support: before, during and after calving.

How to detect gestation
If you suspect your cat is full, take her to a vet for confirmation. The signs that should alert you are the swelling of the belly, the lengthening and volume of the breasts, as well as the fact that your licks the vulva.
If the veterinarian confirms the gestation, prepare for the occasion. Over the next few months, the veterinarian will monitor the pregnancy and determine the number of kittens expected.

Necessary material
To help a cat give birth, prepare a preliminary logistical action plan in case things go wrong:
Write down the vet’s phone number.
Always have a transport cage available in case you need to take it quickly to the vet.
Find a quiet place in your home to prepare the calving nest.
At this point, use a large box and put old cotton towels or rags in it.
Get latex gloves, clean towels and betadine or another disinfectant.
Also prepare a pair of scissors.
Buy powdered milk and a bottle for kittens.

Gestation in a cat usually lasts between 65 and 67 days. During the first month and a half of gestation, no changes in diet will be required.

The arrival of the big day
On the day of the birth, the cat is very agitated and eats nothing. With great care, carry it to its calving nest.
If you notice that the vulva secretes a greenish or bloody liquid, call the veterinarian immediately and follow his instructions. This indicates serious problems, and it may be necessary to place it in the transport cage to get to the clinic.
In the absence of negative symptoms, keep your distance and let nature take its course. The cat, instinctively, knows better than you what she should do. Don’t disturb her, but oversee her.
The Calving
Before calving, you notice that the cat carefully licks her vulva to clean her. Then the contractions begin.
At some point, the cat will break the waters, and the amniotic fluid will be expelled. The first kitten will soon start coming out.
If all goes well, each kitten will be born at an interval of 30 to 60 minutes. If the work is too late, contact the vet.
Keep an eye on the freeing each kitten from the amniotic pouch and cleaning it with its tongue. If not, do it yourself by gently opening the pocket at the head and washing the face and snout with clean gauze so that it can breathe. Return the kitten to its mother so that she sniffs it and finishes its toilet.
It is essential to make sure that the, after giving birth, expels the placenta and eats it. It needs all the hormones and nutrients it contains to produce enough milk. Each kitten corresponds to a different placenta. It will be enough for it to consume 2 or 3.

The cubs are born every 30 to 60 minutes, as previously indicated. There must be no kittens or placentas left in the uterus of the cat. Otherwise, she could die.
Lactation
Once cleaned by their mother, the kittens look for the nipples of the cat to suck. This first lactation is vital, in the case of colostrum. This liquid is essential to immunize the litter naturally.
If one of the kittens does not head, it may be a shutter problem. With gloves, gently grasp the animal and place its head down. Shake it gently so that it expels the fluid from its lungs.
If the kitten is unable to cling to its mother’s breasts, give it the bottle.
After calving
The first few hours after calving, make sure the cat is calm. Avoid all your family members, neighbours, friends and acquaintances coming to see her. Leave the mother and her cubs alone for three or four days. One person is enough to take care of her.
Make sure it never runs out of fresh water and food. Place the litter box 1 or 2 metres from the bed to not have to move. Clean it regularly.
