“12 Cаts Ladу” Is Eхploding Instаgram With Нer Twеlve Persiаns

Michelle, a self-proclaimed “full-time cat mom” is a proud owner of 12 fancy Persian kitties living in Japan. On her Instagram account she posts glimpses into the life of living with “12 spoiled indoor chinchilla Persians” while breaking all cat lady stereotypes: “I’m happy, so it doesn’t really matter what other people think about me having this many cats”

“It started when we met our first cat, Yuki, on December 30, 2010. We took her home after rescuing her in the middle of the road where we found her dirty and freezing. After a while we decided to adopt one more and looked for the same breed on an adoption site — but we actually saw two chinchilla Persians and couldn’t decide between them, so we adopted them both.”

Soon after the owner decided to adopt to two more Persian beauties. So what about the other nine? “Those are their kittens!”

Roll Call

In case you wanted to know their names, all 12 cats: Yuki, Momo, Shou, Yuri, Bruce, Blackie, Kaya, Karu, Ai, James, Tiger, and Goodie. Good luck trying to figure out who’s who.

What’s her secret for getting all 12 furballs look straight into the camera?

“I wave their favorite feather toy to get their attention and call the names of those who don’t look.”

Embracing the crazy cat lady

So you think you’ll get some work done huh?

“Many say it’s cute to have 12 fur babies and it’s cool,” she says, “although some think it’s creepy and weird and that I’m crazy. But I’m happy, so it doesn’t really matter what other people think about me having this many cats.”

What’s the hardest part of taking care of 12 cats? According to Michelle, that’s not entirely the case: Brushing the cats and cleaning their eyes takes priority. “It’s very hard to keep their eyes clean,”12-cats-lady-9

If it fits I sits x12

“I know who eats a lot so I put more in their bowl so I can avoid them stealing another cat’s food.

The lady assures that the cats are all spayed and neutered now so there’s no chance of having more kitties.
