A zoo volunteer from Montreal, Canada, rescued six kittens from a cat colony; two of them, the weakest, need special care and attention.
Tricolor and gray tabby kittens instantly became friends. They were born 10 days apart in different broods, yet they never left each other.
As soon as local animal rights activists Chatons Orphelins Montréal learned of the kittens’ plight, they promised to help them.
They arranged for the kids to visit the veterinarian, where they were examined and treated for a cold. The kittens were named Molly (gray) and Lima (tricolor).
“Lima was in worse shape and was breathing heavily. She weighed around 520g, which is very light for her age,” says Celine Krom of Chatons Orphelins Montréal.
Molly refused to leave her closest friend and kept close to her. The kittens cheered up in each other’s company, which helped them recuperate.
“The most vulnerable kittens are always those who have never had a mother. They have little chance of surviving on the streets. These kittens are really fortunate to have been discovered in time.”
Foster care volunteers Aureli and Valentina brought them home and helped them get back on their feet.
From the beginning, two step-sisters have been there for each other.
“They have different personalities, but they complement each other perfectly,” Celine says.
“Molly is calm and Lima is very playful.”
Molly, who is very cute, is always following her sister around. She cheerfully participates in her games and puts up with her antics.
If they aren’t racing about the home, they are laying in bed together, whispering lullabies to one another.
Lima is adventurous and interested in everything that moves. She likes to explore every corner and always wants to know what people are up to.
In each of their joint adventure, Molly follows her on her heels.
Celine explains, “The small ones sleep together and care about each other.” “They’re a match made in heaven.”
The kitties’ desire came true after they spent four months in foster care.
The curators got exciting news about themselves on New Year’s Eve.
The same family picked Molly and Lima, and they were willing to share their home with both daughters.
“They’re like sisters, but they’re not related,” Celine explains.
“They have an amazing relationship, and we are thrilled that they will be able to live together in the future.”
