My family had a mamma cat and her two kittens living in their backyard. They fed the three cats every day but were unable to pet the feral cats. I was confident I would be able to socialize the kittens. When I was home for Christmas my dad put out a possum trap to catch the kittens. It took about 4 hours and numerous attempts but we were successful!
My family named them Sapphire and Scooter. I brought the kittens to my home and began socializing them each day. It was a slow start but within a week, both kittens were purring and playing like regular house cats. They forgot all about their time on the street!
Through social media, I was able to find the kittens a home together with an old friend of mine! I miss Sapphire ans Scooter so much but fostering them encouraged me to continue fostering. I have fostered 24 cats so far!
Mamma was too feral to be socialized but we got her spayed and she continues to get fed each day.
