Cupid, a two-year-old red-haired cat, vanished on December 27 of last year, leaving his family distraught. Cupid spent the entire day in his normal locations, but when it came time for lunch, he was nowhere to be seen, leaving everyone concerned.
India Redman, of Bournemouth, England, was anxious to find her cat and was ready to go to any length to do so. What he didn’t realize was that his kitty had gone missing while searching for his former neighbor’s goodies.
Cat travels 38 kilometers to his birthplace on foot.
Before that, his family began the search, and they put up posters throughout the neighborhood to find his whereabouts. With the help of her father, India traveled around the neighborhood and surrounding areas by car to see if they could find him.
They made many posts about the missing cat on social media in the hopes that someone would notice it, and due to these posts, someone told them that he had spotted it at home after three days of looking, but when they came, it was gone.
The search for Cupid continued desperately, and the good news began to arrive when a woman contacted India over the Internet.
India said, according to Metro :
“A lady sent a message with a photo of a red-haired cat that she had seen near her house, asking us to call her if that was Cupid.”
Cupid’s mother was excited, and jumped from her bed to call the lady, after talking and sharing details they confirmed that it was him.
The cat had traveled many miles to reach Odstock, Wiltshire, where the woman who was related to the family resides, and the most remarkable thing was that it was Cupid’s hometown, just two houses from where it was taken.
The kitten had apparently used his navigating senses to find his former home, but when he arrived, he found no one he knew, as the old family had moved. As a result, he remembered a neighbor who often offered him cakes when he went for a walk and chose to return home.
India said the neighbor didn’t remember it the first time they met, but it was emotional for her to know. India was reunited with Cupid at long last, but she couldn’t believe the journey her cat had taken to reach her village.
India stated the following:
“At the same time, it’s such an amazing and wild narrative.”
India was overjoyed to have met her intrepid feline companion, but he looked delighted and proud of his independent demeanor.
The mother believes her cat did not come home because she roamed too far away from home, so she went to a familiar location. In this manner, he arrived at his birthplace, where he remembered his roots and paid a visit to an old acquaintance and neighbor.
Cupido was found safe and sound after many days lost and a 38-kilometer trek.
Fortunately, everything ended in the best possible way and, after this great scare, India will be more aware of Cupid’s plans.
